Neoclassical, Reimagined: An Editorial at Villa Pizzo, Lake Como
Videography by Anna Lord
Villa Pizzo sits on the western shore of Lake Como with the quiet authority of a place that has never needed to announce itself. Neoclassical architecture meets terraced gardens that step down toward the water, and the interplay between the two — stone and green, structure and wildness — gives the estate a character that shifts depending on where you stand and how the light falls.
It was this duality that drew the team to the villa for a styled editorial imagining an intimate wedding weekend on the lake. Anna built the shoot around the contrast that defines the setting: classical grandeur brought into conversation with modern fashion and design.
The fashion anchored the narrative. Two couture gowns by Dylan Parienty Paris offered distinct statements — the first a modern ball gown, layered chiffon with a sweeping train that moved through the villa’s gardens as though it belonged there; the second a sleeker silhouette detailed with lace flowers and fringe, sharper and more contemporary, suited to the architectural interiors. Both held their own against a venue that could easily overpower anything placed within it.
Chiara Sperti’s florals struck a similar balance. Her colour-blocked ceremony arch in peach and blush was bold without competing with the landscape — a modern gesture set against centuries-old stone. NKT Events carried that sensibility into the reception design with velvet linens and candlelit tablescapes that felt rich and textured without tipping into excess.
A romantic boat ride on the lake completed the story, pulling the editorial beyond the villa’s walls and onto the water — a reminder that Como’s real magic has always been the way the setting extends endlessly outward.
