Skylar and Shane’s Modern Mallorca Wedding Was a Week-Long Mediterranean Affair
When it came time to choose a wedding venue, Skylar and Shane landed on Son Marroig — a 15th-century Mallorcan estate set between the Tramuntana mountains and the Mediterranean. The setting was dramatic, historical, and just remote enough to feel like their own private corner of the island.
The ceremony was officiated by a close friend, which set exactly the right tone: personal, funny, and far from formal. Dinner was served al fresco alongside the estate, and the reception moved into an interior stone “cave” — a space that doubled as the most atmospheric dance floor imaginable.
For the occasion, Skylar chose a drop-waist Rebecca Schoneveld gown and a mantilla veil — a deliberate nod to the Spanish locale. On her feet: Larroude flats, because a bride who plans a week of events in Mallorca knows when to prioritize comfort.
The week started days earlier with just Skylar and Shane, alone in a car, driving the Mallorcan coastline before anyone else arrived. No itinerary, no guests — just the two of them and the road.
Two days before the wedding, they hosted a Mediterranean boat excursion for their guests, complete with a sunset swim. The water was impossibly clear, the coastline was rugged and wild, and by the time the boat returned to harbor after dark, the view of the city lights from the water made the whole thing feel like a scene from a film.
The welcome dinner took place the following evening at The Belmond La Residencia, where paella and cocktails awaited. Skylar — who had no intention of wearing white all week — arrived in an Efrain Mogollon dress with a bold yellow bodice and Prada heels. It was the kind of choice that signaled what the entire week was about: considered, confident, and unapologetically their own.
